Board Business Meeting, October 7 at 4:30 pm at Steamboat Springs Middle School
We want to take a moment to address the events of last Friday at Steamboat Springs High School, where we had two Safe2Tell tips, one of which led to a lockdown as a precaution. Please know that the safety and well-being of our students and staff are always our top priority, and we take every potential threat very seriously.
Steamboat Springs Police Department detained an individual after a follow up Safe2Tell tip at 2:06pm reported a student with a gun.
Around 12:30 p.m. today, the Steamboat Springs School District and the Steamboat Springs Police Department received a Safe2Tell reporting a student with a gun at Steamboat Springs High School. The report was immediately investigated by local law enforcement, and no credible threat was found. There were no disruptions to the school day.
Peddle and pedestrian power will be on full display during the upcoming Walk & Roll to School Day on Wednesday, October 9, when a number of entities come together to promote safe routes, etiquette, and the joy of getting outdoors.
We are excited to inform our families that bus passes will be distributed to all students who registered for transportation either during open enrollment or through the Google form sent at the beginning of the school year. Students will receive their bus passes on October 3 at their respective schools.
